Research progress of deep eutectic solvents for CO2 capture
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have attracted great attention in CO
2
capture because of its advantages of cheap raw materials
good chemical stability
designability
simple synthesis process
recyclability and environmental protection. The research progress of DESs applied in CO
2
capture in recent years was reviewed. The abilities of DESs for CO
2
capture were summarized and the affecting factors were analyzed. Meanwhile
the recycling performance of DESs was introduced and the capture mechanisms
including physical absorption
chemical absorption and physico-chemical synergistic absorption were summarized. Furthermore
the calculation models of the solubility of CO
2
in DESs were summarized. It was found that temperature
pressure and water content (mass fraction) had a certain influence on CO
2
capture
and the structure of DESs was a deeply important affecting factor. Most of DESs could be recycled and the establishment of solubility calculation model effectively promoted the further development of CO
2
capture by DESs. Finally
the main problems of CO
2
capture by DESs were pointed out and its further research works were analyzed and discussed.
